What We Do
How does Gulfside Bank protect my information? To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products and services to you.
How does Gulfside Bank collect my information? We collect your personal information, for example, when you

Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Gulfside Bank does not share with affiliates.
Non‑Affiliates

Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.

  • Gulfside Bank does not share with non-affiliates so they can market to you.
Joint Marketing

A formal agreement between nonaffiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

What does Gulfside Bank do with your personal information from the Mobile Banking App?

At Gulfside Bank, we understand how important it is to safeguard our customers' personal information. We are committed to protecting your personal information at all times. This Mobile Banking Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit the bank's mobile app.

Why?

The mobile app requests access to information stored on your device such as location, camera, contacts, or other features you are enrolled in to enrich and simplify your own user experience and improve our services, as well as provide additional security to protect your account.

It is important to understand that:

  • Before granting access to this information, you will be prompted to give the application that permission.
  • If you do not wish to grant that permission, you may decline.

If you later change your mind, those permissions can be updated in your device's settings.

What?

Some examples of permissions your app may request are:

  • Location: This information may be used when checking for nearby branch and ATM locations.
  • Photos, Media, or Other Files: This information may be used to add an image to a transaction or add a photo to your profile.
  • Camera: This feature may be used when taking a picture to add an image to a transaction or to capture images of a check that is being deposited, or to add a photo to your profile.
  • Contacts: This information may be used when sending money to others.
  • Messages: This feature may be used to send and/or receive text messages (SMS), emails, and other types of messages such as instant secure messages.
  • Financial Data: This information, such as data related to your payment method (bill payment activity and payment history information), may be used when you make a bill payment.

How?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

The app information is retained in accordance with state and federal retention laws. Please contact us to determine specific timeframes for your personal stored information and if that information may be deleted.

Account Deletions

Account deletion options cannot be added to the online or mobile applications as this option falls under Federal Regulations. Deleting a bank account would be in direct violation of several federal regulations and acts. The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and Bank Secrecy Act requires banks and other financial institutions to implement Customer Identification Programs to prevent money laundering. These programs mandate that banks obtain and retain checking and savings account customer data, including contact, identification, and tax information. FDIC and BSA regulations stipulate that banks must keep this information for at least five years after the account is closed. Regulations Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) 8000 1020.220 Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), 31 USC 5311, 12 CFR 21.11 and 12 CFR 21.21. The above regulations are only a subset of regulations that financial institutions are required to comply with.
